Game Design Masterclass with James Wallis

The hobby veteran and designer leads you through creating your first game. Split across two sessions:

GAME DESIGN CRASH COURSE - Saturday 17th September 2022 at 10.30am - Introduction/Beginner
Learn how games work and how to create them, then concept, build and test a working prototype, in a morning-long workshop. This is your chance to create your first ever game from scratch – and begin your journey in game design.

Materials to be provided to create a basic prototype of your game to take away and develop further. This is an ideal course for complete beginners who want to learn the basics of game design and put it into action right away.

Take your game design skills to a higher level with this hands-on workshop designed to help creators unlock the potential in their ideas. 

Ideal for those who have created games in some form before, but would like to learn how to refine their work to publishable standards. Enter the workshop with your game ideas, and leave with actionable next steps for game development.

Join Guy Sclanders for an afternoon of answering your games mastering questions and guiding you through the sometimes thorny world of running roleplaying games. 

Whether you’ve never run a game before, or you’ve been playing for decades, Guy will cut through the nerves, niggles and bad habits to provide incisive advice and guidance to make your games better.

Guy Sclanders is the author of multiple books on how to be a great games master and the host of the ever-helpful hit YouTube channel How To Be A Great GM. Get face to face advice from the master and find out why 200,000 others have already taken his lessons on board.

Kit-bashing Bootcamp with Bill Making Stuff

Join the YouTube miniature-mangling star Bill Makes Stuff for a hands-on workshop. Build your own miniature to take away, whether that’s Kit-Bashing or Bead-bot making, under the expert tutelage of Bill.

Beginning with an introduction to planning out your model and even a peek at Bill’s famous sketchbook, the workshop will then break into practical hands-on kit-bashing and model creation.

With a casual environment workshop attendees will get a chance to ask questions, and discuss the model creation process with Bill himself.

All equipment and model making materials will be provided, and the workshop will run for the afternoon, giving you plenty of time to everything you’ve stuck to stick.

Make an RPG in an afternoon with Chris McDowall

Join the creator of Electric Bastionland and Into the Odd to learn how to create a roleplaying game in an afternoon. All you need is something to take notes with, and a sense of adventure.

Off the back of our extremely popular webinar series Chris will take you through the process of creating a game from scratch.

•    Look at existing tabletop roleplaying games that deliver great gameplay with simple rules.
•    Design the core of a roleplaying game and the critical content that lets you bring it to the table.
•    Carefully examine your game to refine and improve your design.

•    Knowledge for how to develop your game further after playtesting.
