Second part of planned trilogy will integrate with races and campaign from first game

Total War: Warhammer, the PC strategy game set in Games Workshop’s fantasy miniatures universe, has had the second part of its planned trilogy revealed.

Created as a three-part spin-off to developer Creative Assembly’s historical Total War series, the first Total War: Warhammer released at the start of last year and featured the Empire, Greenskins, Dwarfs and Vampire Counts, with the Bretonnians and Chaos factions added as downloadable content after the game’s launch.

The trailer for the newly-announced sequel, Total War: Warhammer II, shows off three new races – High Elves, Dark Elves and Lizardmen – as well as ending on a not-too-subtle tease for the Skaven.

The game will take place across Ulthuan, Lustria, Naggaroth and the Southlands, as well as the rest of the New World, as opposed to the first game’s Old World. The Vortex seen in the trailer will also play a major role.

There will also be a new story mode, which will integrate with the narrative in the original game for the optional to play a connected campaign that spans both maps. All existing DLC can also be rolled into the upcoming sequel.

Total War: Warhammer II will be out sometime later this year. Check out the video teaser below:
