Video game spin-off out today in the US

The card game spin-off to PS4 video game Bloodborne has been delayed in the UK.

The game’s UK distributor Esdevium confirmed the news to Tabletop Gaming, but didn’t specify a reason or offer an alternative release period. We’ve followed up on the announcement and will update this story as necessary.

However, the clarification that the game is currently being described as delayed – rather than cancelled – means you should hold out hope for some news soon.

Designed by Eric Lang and published by CMON, Bloodborne: The Card Game is inspired by the video game’s procedurally-generated Chalice Dungeons. Three to five players compete to defeat the beasts below Yharnam and absorb their blood, which must be banked before it is lost completely upon death. Expect to die. A lot.

It’s likely to be a bit of a sting for fans awaiting the game, as it’s out today (November 11th) in the US. Here’s hoping it won’t be long before it makes its way over here.

UPDATE: Online UK games retailer Chaos Cards has offered some further insight in its latest newsletter, explaining that "the UK release is currently on hold due to licensing issues".
