Digital version of short-time title includes solo and multiplayer modes, with CPU opponents planned for the future
Qwixx, the fast-playing dice game designed by Steffen Benndorf and nominated for the 2013 Spiel des Jahres award, has finally launched on iOS.
Released back in 2012, the game involves two to five players marking off numbers from their player board by rolling coloured dice and combining the results in various ways to maximise their score.
It plays in around 15 minutes and also the winner of a Mensa Select award in 2014 for its smart gameplay.
The digital version for iPhone and iPad includes a solo mode and local multiplayer, including leaderboards. Support for computer-controlled opponents is apparently in the works and due to be patched in ‘very soon’, according to developer Outline Development.
Qwixx’s app can additionally be used as a virtual score pad or digital dice when playing the physical game with friends.
It’ll set you back £2.99 on the iOS App Store.
From the looks of things, an Android version – different to the new iOS release – was launched a few years ago, and is still available for 79p.
