Magic: The Gathering cards worth $25,000 stolen from American football pro’s car

In yet another case highlighting the monetary value of Magic: The Gathering cards, a collection worth up to $25,000 has been stolen from a professional American football player.

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Cassius Marsh has been collecting the cards since he was 11. Marsh’s girlfriend borrowed his car to visit a downtown nightclub on Tuesday night, where the car’s window was smashed and a backpack containing the cards – estimated to be worth between $20,000 and $25,000 – was stolen. A second stolen backpack contained an iPad provided by Marsh’s sports team.

According to Marsh’s plea for the cards’ return on Twitter, among the decks stolen were: Legacy Elves, Legacy Goblins, Modern Affinity, Standard W/R Vehicles, Modern U/R Walkers, Modern Abzan Company, Modern Jund and Modern UW Planes Control.

Marsh is offering a pair of free tickets to the next home Seahawks game in return for the cards’ return, and insisted he wouldn’t press charges.

“Other than God, family and football, my Magic card collection is everything,” he tweeted.

Who ever stole my magic collection from my LR4 last night, if you are 12 plz return it and I will give you two tickets to next home game.
