Tabletop Gaming is looking for a Head of Content to push the UK’s top media brand about tabletop games to new heights.
Our exciting portfolio of digital and traditional media reaches over 120,000 enthusiasts every month and, as Head of Content, you will oversee and curate content for our two monthly magazines - Tabletop Gaming and Miniature Wargames - our popular website, plus our social media channels and our major London event.
As well as being a team leader you would be expected to write, edit and commission hobby news, reviews, interviews and features about every type of tabletop game, from the latest card game craze to the biggest board games of the year.
You will be expected to work with in-house editors and designers on our Gaming team, as well as a pool of freelance contributors, to produce timely and relevant content that goes beyond the board to tell the stories behind the most innovative and entertaining games around. As such, you should have sufficient experience of writing with clarity, knowledge and personality about tabletop games and working to regular deadlines.
You should understand the different needs of print and digital audiences, be able to craft headlines and concepts that grab attention whether on a shop shelf or on social media. And, of course, you should love games and be able to use that passion to identify emerging trends, groundbreaking designers and must-play new releases to help drive our magazine's readership and online traffic.
As we further develop our digital platforms and our exciting Tabletop Gaming Live convention there will be increased opportunities to expand into video, podcasting and to represent the brand on stage and on screen. Hence knowledge of video/audio production would also be useful, but not essential.
This is a senior role and ideal for someone who is looking for a pivotal role in the future development of the most exciting media brand in tabletop gaming.
You will be based at the offices of Warners Group Publications in Bourne, Lincolnshire, where we produce a wide variety of magazines, websites and events.
