WizKids also planning to launch Guardians HeroClix line in April 2017 ahead of movie sequel

WizKids is planning to bring Marvel’s sci-fi band of rogues, Guardians of the Galaxy, to the comic book line-up of Dice Masters next year.

The expansion will include over 30 characters from the series, which first appeared in comic book form back in 1969 and found a wider audience with the 2014 film.

Random packs will include heroes and villains such as Star-Lord, Rocket Racoon, Groot (“I am Groot”), Yondu, Drax the Destroyer, Angela and Cosmo, with each character set including two dice and two cards – including a foil card.

The packs will cost 99 cents in the US, with a 99p cost unconfirmed but looking likely in the UK. In the US, there will also be a limited edition promo card available from selected retailers – whether this offer will extend to the UK is unclear.

The reveal follows the news that WizKids will also bring 12 Guardians of the Galaxy characters to its HeroClix range.

As with the HeroClix figures, Marvel Dice Masters: Guardians of the Galaxy will launch in April 2017, ahead of the UK cinema release of movie sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on April 28th.
