Nomad Games’ digital adaptation based on City of Thieves, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain and Citadel of Chaos stories

After Nomad Games released a cryptic six-second teaser for its latest digital tabletop adaptation Fighting Fantasy Legends late last month, the Talisman studio has now taken the wraps off the project.

Legends will take the choose-your-own-adventure format of Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson’s classic series of gamebooks and transform them into a card-driven RPG for iOS, Android and PC through Steam.

Based on three of the best-known Fighting Fantasy stories – City of Thieves, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain (which was previously turned into a board game) and Citadel of Chaos – the game lets players explore the world of Allansia, adding cards to their deck and improving their dice rolls for events such as combat and skills tests.

There will be cards themed around each environment – but no word on whether you’ll be able to buy extra cards or adventures via microtransactions or expansions just yet.

Fighting Fantasy Legends will be out this summer, marking the 35th anniversary of the books’ debut. Livingstone is also currently working on a new entry in the series that is planned for release in August.
