What was the 'War of the Monarch?'

Each Flesh and Blood set has had a special event at least one week prior to its official release, giving fans the first opportunity to play and collect the latest cards. The event 'War of the Monarch' was to celebrate the upcoming release of Dusk till Dawn. the tenth set release since Flesh and Blood’s launch in October 2019, which contains 236 cards that collectively tell the story of the battle between the forces of light and shadow in Flesh and Blood. Dusk till Dawn reintroduces fan-favourite classic heroes which originated from Monarch, such as Prism and Boltyn, with the former getting a new hero card so players can finally use the character again in Classic Constructed formats.

This was a 'limited' event, with players opening booster packs on the day in order to create a deck to compete in a tournament with. Because Dusk Till Dawn is an expansion booster set it cannot be used for limited events, so instead the event was run with Monarch booster packs, giving many players the chance to compete with these characters for the first time in organised play, as Covid restrictions prevented the Monarch limited season from running in most countries during its original release in May 2021.

Legend Story Studios CEO thanks fans for their 'consistent love and support.'

With such a successful weekend event, Legend Story Studios CEO James White spoke about how happy they were with Flesh and Blood's place within the TCG community, saying that the studio is in growth mode and is proud to be competing against some of the biggest IP franchises in the world.

“With a lot of major releases in the TCG market at the moment, competition in the industry is the highest it's ever been. Even with this massive activity from TCG veterans and newcomers, it’s amazing to see fans of Flesh and Blood turning out to celebrate Dusk till Dawn with one another. These players become a part of the War of the Monarch story themselves, and in doing so they have helped us set an all time record for any single weekend program Legend Story Studios has run. I can’t thank our fans and players enough for their consistent support and love for our great game."

Dusk Til Dawn releases on Friday 14th July, with the UK's biggest Flesh and Blood tournament 'Calling: Birmingham' happening two weeks afterwards on 28th-30th July, making this set a very important shake-up to the Flesh and Blood game for British fans looking to win their share of the $20,000 prize money.
