Mansions of mad mess

Mansions of Madness, Arkham Horror and Eldritch Horror co-designer Nikki Valens is turning her attentions to a horror of a different kind: household mess.

Quirky Circuits appears to be a housebound co-op spin on the programmed chaos of Richard Garfield’s Robot Wars-a-like Robo Rally, as players collectively code a set of instructions for a cleaning robot.

Nobody can see what commands their fellow programmers are adding to the list, meaning there’s plenty of opportunity for the simple objective of tidying up to quickly go awry.

The game is coming out from Stuffed Fables and Comanauts studio Plaid Hat, and appears to use a similar board-in-a-book format for its varying map layouts. 21 different scenarios of different difficulties will be included in the base game.

Quirky Circuits will be released later this year.
