Knight Models has revealed the first character figure from its upcoming Harry Potter Miniatures Game – and it might surprise you to learn that it isn’t the boy wizard, Ron or Hermione.

In fact, it’s Alastor ‘Mad Eye’ Moody, the auror who first appears in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and goes on to be a pivotal member of the Order of the Phoenix.

The render shown by Knight Models appears to be based on Mad Eye’s portrayal in the series of films by actor Brendan Gleeson, including his distinctive false eye and staff.

Mad Eye’s figure is 35mm, hinting at the scale of the miniatures game – although future characters are yet to be confirmed, Knight’s Instagram hashtags mention Harry himself (hardly a stretch, that one), the Death Eaters, Voldemort (another shoe-in), the four Hogwarts houses and Dumbledore.

The Harry Potter Miniatures Game is due for release later in 2017, aligning with the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’s publication.
