In this week from Knight Games they have presented two of the most anticipated novelties by the followers of Batman: Escape From Arkham Asylum.
As we already know, the wild Batman board game is about to be launched on kickstarter and Knight Games is beginning to show its most important parts along with the detailed miniatures that will be the main characters in this adventure. These days they have decided to show two key elements of Batman: Escape From Arkham Asylum: The Board Game and the Character Actions.
The board is designed not only to create the dynamics of the game, but also to fully immerse ourselves in the wild aura of the Arkham Asylum. This is modular and consists of cardboard Tiles that can be rectangular (corridors) or hexagonal (rooms) that connect with each other in a simple way.
Except for the Super-Villains cells, which is where the miniatures start the game, the rest of the modules (will vary depending on the number of players) will be placed face down at the discretion of the players, in contact with up to three of the edges of the Super- Villains cell, a corridor and a room, so we create a unique board for each game.
Actions and Movement
In Batman: Escape From Arkham Asylum the player has 6 actions per round (2 for each turn). If the model has obtained any additional conditions such as being stunned, this will subtract actions within the turn.
In general, these actions spend one action point to take place, but there are also some actions that have zero cost, such as collecting gossip.
Among the actions that have one cost is the movement, which is one of the first things that can be done in the game, although it is also possible to fight, search, change the alarm level, etc. Usually, some of them will allow us to obtain Infamy Points. This is important because at the end of the game the player with the most Infamy Points will be the winner of the game.
To carry out these actions and achieve objectives, the player must solve them with a dice roll, which, depending on the result, may have positive or negative consequences, both for the person making the roll and for the rest of the players.
The benefits of these actions can be used as you wish. In the case of movement, it will allow you to move around the board in search of your objectives, but, for example, there are also objects that, if you get them, you will have the opportunity to choose what to do with them, if you use them to temporarily gain additional abilities or if on the contrary you use them to craft them and thus obtain weapons.
If we look at the board and the mechanics of the game we can see that the level of versatility in Batman: Escape From Arkham Asylum is present in all the dynamics of the game so that the player can enjoy the varieties of the scape in each game.
This originality and the detailed presentation of Batman's most iconic Supervillains, where his/her first appearance with the first comic is shown on their YouTube channel, makes the details of this game present in each of their publications.
From Knight Games they are confirmed that there are still much news to discover about Batman: Escape From Arkham Asylum, so we will be attentive to subsequent releases so as not to miss the essence of this wild game.
