Miniatures title features simplified rules and easy-assemble models

Games Workshop has announced that its Warhammer 40,000: Battle for Vedros series will be sold in the UK video game retailer GAME.

The range of products, which are compatible with Warhammer 40,000 and appear to be based aesthetically on the 2008 fifth edition, includes a starter set with Space Marines and Orks, as well as vehicle and character expansions, such as the Ork Wartrakk, Space Marine Attack Bike and Ork Boyz, and a paint set including 13 pots of paint, a brush and a painting guide.

Aimed at younger players and newcomers to miniatures titles, Battle for Vedros is based on a simplified version of the full Warhammer 40,000 rules.

Similarly, the models have been modified to allow easier assembly, with push-together plugs and holes that will hold without glue – although the use of plastic cement is recommended in one of the videos on Games Workshop’s website.

Games Workshop confirmed on Facebook that Battle for Vedros would be sold in GAME stores across the UK, but declined to mention whether the sets would be exclusive to the retailer and its own outlets. A possible release date was left as ‘later this month’.
