New Mechanics, Champion Legends and Baron Nashor Ultimate Rare
Power strikes from the shadows in Riftbound: Unleashed, the newest set for the Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game. Players will brave the deep jungles of Runeterra with new Champion Legends, fresh mechanics, and a brand-new card rarity to collect.
Riot Games has announced that Riftbound: Unleashed will launch in China on April 10 and in English-speaking territories on May 8, 2026. The third set includes more than 220 cards and over 30 alternate art cards, introducing several major additions to the game.

The Unleashed set introduces a new group of Champion Legends inspired by hidden strength and patient transformation.
“Champions like Master Yi, Diana, Vi and Pyke embody this idea of hidden strength and patient transformation. Each has walked a solitary path, shaped not in the spotlight, but in silence,” a spokesperson says.
“Whether it’s Yi’s clarity through focus, Diana’s exile-forged conviction, Vi’s relentless pursuit of justice or Pyke’s calculated retribution, all four share a common truth: their power was earned in the dark. They represent the Jungle’s rhythm: wait, watch, strike and prove that real strength doesn’t roar. It lurks, builds and erupts when the moment is right.”
Other Champion Legends revealed for Riftbound: Unleashed include:
The set introduces three new mechanics to the Riftbound trading card game: Ambush, XP and Hunt.
These cards can be played as a reaction to a battlefield where you have units, allowing players to surprise their opponent with reinforcements mid-showdown.

XP acts as a resource that players build up and spend for unique advantages. XP also translates into Levels, and cards with the Level keyword benefit from how much XP has been earned.

Cards with the Hunt keyword earn XP when they are used to conquer or hold a battlefield.

Unleashed introduces several new tokens to the game:

Riot Games also unveiled a new Ultimate Rarity card type. Ultimate Rarity is a unique Overnumbered card that appears in less than one per cent of packs. The Unleashed set features just one Ultimate Rare card – Baron Nashor.
“Ultimate Rares will not appear in every Riftbound set going forward; we’re saving it for those truly special cards,” a spokesperson says.

To kick off the Unleashed preview season, Sydeon, Disguised Toast, Scarra, and Yvonne faced off in a Riftbound showcase match, debuting several Legends, units, spells and keywords.
“Unleashed expands Riftbound with new Champion Legends, bold mechanics, and powerful plays that reward those who bide their time… then strike when it matters most,” the spokesperson adds.
