Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe Roleplaying Game will draw upon AMC’s hit TV adaptations

Looking for a tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) that places relationships, memory and emotional consequences at the heart of play, rather than focusing on power struggles and supernatural politics? Renegade Game Studios is bringing Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe to the tabletop, in partnership with AMC Global Media, in a gothic horror game that promises to do just that!

Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe Roleplaying Game will draw upon the publisher’s hit television adaptations, beginning with Interview with the Vampire, which will launch its crowdfunding campaign on BackerKit in autumn 2026.

How do you play Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe Roleplaying Game?

Instead of building campaigns around territorial conflicts or battles for dominance, players will create stories centred on vampires, witches, psychics and ordinary humans whose lives become intertwined through love, ambition, loyalty and loss. According to Renegade, chronicles can span decades or even centuries, with players exploring how past decisions continue to shape the present.

One of the game’s standout features is its emphasis on time and memory. A dedicated Flashback System allows groups to revisit key moments from a character’s past, ranging from brief scenes to entire game sessions, revealing new information that can dramatically alter the present-day narrative. Renegade says campaigns may freely move between modern-day New Orleans and historical settings such as 19th-century Paris, reflecting the structure of Anne Rice’s stories.

The system also introduces mechanics designed to reinforce the setting’s themes. Success can create unexpected complications rather than straightforward victories, while three separate damage tracks represent physical, psychological and emotional harm. Recovery is tied to roleplaying, with characters healing by embracing their true identities instead of simply resting.

Another notable addition is a collaborative “Rewrite” mechanic, which gives players the opportunity to take narrative control of scenes, helping shape dramatic moments alongside the game’s storyteller.

The initial crowdfunding campaign will include an Interview with the Vampire Starter Set, the New Orleans Rulebook, premium accessories such as liquid-core dice, character journals and dice bags, along with campaign-exclusive collectibles.

While Interview with the Vampire will be the first release, Renegade says it is only the beginning of a connected RPG line. Future supplements will expand into other parts of AMC’s Immortal Universe, including Mayfair Witches, introducing witches, psychics and other supernatural beings to the game.
