Heading for Washington DC in late 2027
Games Workshop has announced plans to open a brand-new Warhammer World in the United States, marking the first time the iconic flagship Warhammer venue will exist outside the UK.
According to the official announcement, the new Warhammer World will be located just outside Washington DC and is intended to serve as a major destination for fans of the miniature wargaming hobby. The company says the venue will celebrate Warhammer “in all its forms” – including gaming, painting (obvs), modelling, storytelling, events and community. There’s no word yet on whether Henry Cavill will cut the ribbon on opening day.
The existing Warhammer World in Nottingham, UK is widely regarded as a centrepiece of the Warhammer hobby, combining exhibition spaces, gaming halls, retail, events and themed experiences. While Games Workshop acknowledges that the original venue “sets a very high bar”, it has stressed that the US location will not be a direct copy.
Instead, the company plans to create a flagship venue that matches Nottingham’s quality and ambition while being a distinct experience in its own right. Games Workshop describes the project as being “equally uncompromising on quality and experience” and something “worthy of Warhammer’s rich settings” and the Warhammer World name.
At the heart of the project, the company says, is the goal of creating “something extraordinary” for Warhammer fans.
While emphasising that there is still significant work to be done, the announcement also included a provisional opening window. Fans hoping to get a first glimpse of the new US Warhammer World should be heading to Washington DC in late 2027.
