Taking iconic asmodee games and adapting them for a younger generation: think Splendor Kids and Dixit Kids!
Tabletop giant asmodee has launched a brand-new kids’ brand, dedicated to developing family-friendly titles that are designed to boost social and cognitive skills.
asmodee is currently one of the most diverse board game developers in the industry. After going through a recent reshuffle, its roster of brands includes Aconyte, Exploding Kittens, Fantasy Flight Games, Space Cowboys, Unexpected Games and more. However, asmodee is keen to add another to that list with the debut of asmodee Kids. The title is a simple one, but reflects the ethos behind this shift.
asmodee Kids’ mission is to take the slate of iconic asmodee games and adapt them for a younger generation. The idea is to maintain their original premise and spirit, but ensure that the rules and mechanics are as accessible as possible for that next wave of gamers. In this way, asmodee aims to remain relevant for years to come, as young fans take the skills they have learned from the asmodee Kids range and apply them to the adult iterations of those titles down the line.
Thomas Koegler, the CEO of asmodee, said: “Board games are more than just entertainment. And while we are keeping the fun at the core of the experience, because that’s what kids are seeking, they also get to develop focus, adaptability and emotional skills. asmodee Kids means that children and parents can enjoy our most iconic games together.”

The launch concept is heavily focused on educational development. Benoit Forget, the Head of asmodee Kids, said “We’re so excited to inspire the next generation of players. We’re building an engaging, developmentally appropriate entry point into the board game universe, one that will foster creativity, social connection and life-long play.”
The initiative has been set up alongside the Game in Lab programme, a scheme that sees asmodee fund scientific research to explore what the measurable cognitive and social benefits of playing board games could be for young adults and children. The company has noted that some of its observations include a 34 per cent improvement in behaviour and 17 per cent increase in self-control in children with attention or behavioural challenges. The research also shows a 10 per cent reading improvement in children aged 6-12 and arithmetic boosts of 17 per cent. It even suggests a single board game can improve a teen’s focus, with an eight per cent growth in attention for those teenagers who played titles like Dobble as opposed to watching videos.
Micha Le Bourhis, Head of Sustainability at asmodee, admits that “After seven years supporting scientific research into play, we’re now seeing clear evidence of its impact, deepening our understanding of the positive role games can play in cognitive development. It’s a step forward in recognising how play contributes to both individual growth and collective well-being.”
This understanding is a crucial factor in asmodee’s desire to quickly expand its asmodee Kids line.

While we have a basic understanding of what the brand represents and the research to back it up, audiences will be keen to know which titles are included under the asmodee Kids banner. Well, the new line launches this month with My First Unlock!, a spinoff of the classic escape room Unlock! series. Following that will be Splendor Kids, in October. Following the success of Splendor and Splendor Duel, this expansion feels like a natural next step. Finally, January 2026 will see the launch of Dixit Kids, a follow-up to the iconic Dixit line that has already featured a Disney alternative and multiple expansion packs.
asmodee Kids is determined to encourage young players to ditch the screens and interact with its famous tabletop line up. If this initial run is a success, fans should expect to see more classic games reimagined very soon! For now, keep an eye on asmodee’s official page for more information.
