TTG Issue 116 highlights every great game we saw at UKGE 2026, gets existential with the Ghost in the Shell TTRPG and celebrates Gaming for Good!
Hello gamers! Iconic: it’s the only way to describe the image on our cover, as the original Ghost in the Shell manga becomes an RPG (see p14) and brings that incredible aesthetic with it. As well as gunplay and existential angst, obviously.
We’d love to put our feet up following a trip to Birmingham for a little gaming convention you might have heard of called UK Games Expo (see p18), but that board game extravaganza gave us so much to write about! We run down everything cool we saw and offer up some top-notch merch to boot (p26).
As a volunteer Dungeon Master for the charity Game Therapy, I’ve also been privy to some of the good that can be achieved through games. We take a deep delve into what the hobby offers in terms of mental health support (p28), helping the unhoused and military veterans, before looking at the push for sustainability (p34) and hearing the most recent psychological research from the University of Plymouth (p36).
Plus, our reviews section (starts p54) plays host to the age-old conflict between cats and birds! Who will prevail: Cat Earth, CATegories and Purrramid or Chickens ’n Aliens, Flockers and Twittens? To paraphrase Aliens vs. Predator, whoever wins, we all lose to the cute-but-lethal toys from Fluff n’ Fury!
Happy gaming!
