The Forgotten Island, The Polar Station and The Forbidden Castle expand Spiel des Jahres-nominated series

Exit: The Game – our preferred escape-the-room puzzle series of the year so far – is getting another three instalments this autumn.

The Forgotten Island, The Polar Station and The Forbidden Castle will make up the next trilogy of scenarios in Inka and Markus Brand’s Spiel des Jahres-nominated run of single-use brain games, according to BoardGameGeek.

You can probably guess from those titles what the roughly 45- to 90-minute adventures will include, stranding players on an island, in a locked evacuated research station and an isolated medieval fortress and challenging them to get out by solving riddles and discovering clues before they starve, freeze or otherwise succumb to their environment. Cheery stuff.

The three new entries will be out in the US this October, hopefully meaning a UK release won’t be far behind.
