New Dark Souls: The Board Game Expansion

Welcome to Dark Souls... Again

Steamforged has opened pre-orders for its newest expansion to Dark Souls: The Board Game, with the Executioners Chariot Expansion.

You will have to “gather your courage, for this unholy excruciator will stop at nothing to prolong the torment of the undead souls in his charge”, where even their death will not be the end, as you’ll still have to face the beast that pulls the dark chariot.

Dark Souls: The Board Game is based on the video game Dark Souls, one which is notoriously brutal and where regular death is almost inevitable.  We’ve seen the same difficulty level within the board game and have praised the boss fights when you reach them. We expect this newest expansion to follow the same brutal feeling, and you’ll need all your determination to succeed.

It’s good news then that this game will include a new mega boss, a gigantic mega boss tile, new boss behaviours, unique boss treasures, and two additional types of enemies. It will also be the first to include encounter cards from level 1 through to level 3, which let you face the new enemies before reaching the boss tile, which we expect will keep the tension high throughout.

There are also 6 new enemy miniatures, and 2 new executioners chariot miniatures to look forward to.
