Wands at the ready. Now, together: accio Harry-Potter-miniatures-spin-off!

That’s right, Knight Models has teased a miniatures game based on the wizarding world of Harry Potter due for release next year, which also happens to be the 20th anniversary of the publication of The Philosopher’s Stone. Christ, we’re old.

You’ll probably recognise Knight’s name from its miniatures titles based on Batman (which also includes other comic book figures such as Watchmen and Green Arrow) and the Marvel universe, spanning X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers.

There’s no real details beyond the release date and a teaser image of Voldemort (via Ian Henderson), but it wouldn’t surprise us for the game to see Potter and his pals, perhaps spanning the students and tutors of Hogwarts as well as the wider aurors and Ministry of Magic, taking on He Shall Not Be Named and his army of Death Eaters.

Whether it will be set before, after or during the timeline of the books and films is also unsure, but with upcoming spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts (And Where To Find Them) set in the early 20th century, there’s certainly plenty of scope for the game to explore.
