Android version to follow in December

7 Wonders, Antoine Bauza’s card-drafting civilisation-builder, is coming to mobile. And this time, we really mean it.

More than three years after Repos Production first announced a digital port of the card game, the studio has confirmed that 7 Wonders will be released on the iOS App Store next week on November 14th.

Android users will need to hang on just a little longer, as the game will be arriving in Google’s Play store on December 20th.

The official launch follows months of beta testing, with Repos saying it ran more than 37,000 matches across 5,000-plus hours to fine-tune the app.

“This last version is the realisation of long months of work, of testing, of listening to your feedbacks and we hope it will fulfil your expectations,” it wrote in an announcement email.

7 Wonders for mobile was originally revealed in February 2014 and initially slated for a release in April or May of that year.

After a first beta in 2015, the app was caught up in prolonged development delays and was ultimately rebuilt from the ground up last year.

After a period of silence about the project, Repos resurfaced earlier this year to tease the hotly-anticipated port for sometime in 2017, but has been coy on giving away too many details about the app.

Whatever the final release ends up being, we’ll finally be able to see for ourselves whether the wait has been worth it in a mere matter of days.
