As the evenings get colder and the nights get darker, you might feel a familiar chill creeping up your spine. A classic horror board game experience is rising from the dead as we speak, as the team at Nomad Games are hard at work putting the finishing touches on their upcoming title Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition. An adaptation of the iconic Games Workshop board game that was originally published in the 80s, Nomad Games have been hard at work to make the most faithful digital conversion they can of the original board game.

Based on the 4th Edition of the game, this faithful adaptation will allow players to re-experience this iconic game of gothic horror and deduction in a whole new way. For new players, they will get the chance to see exactly why Fury of Dracula is considered a classic among the board game community. In Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition, one player takes on the role of Dracula as he increases his influence over Europe. Up to four other players take on the role of Dr. Abraham Van Helsing, Dr. John Seward, Lord Arthur Godalming, and Mina Harker as they attempt to stop Dracula. Set after the events of the original Bram Stoker novel, Fury of Dracula allows players to see what could have happened after the novel, as Dracula returns to enact his bloody revenge on those who foiled his original plans.

Dracula is hidden from the hunters at the start of the game, and places a new hidden location on his trail every time he moves. It's up to the hunters to find these locations on his trail, and use their powers of deduction to work out where Dracula could possibly be hiding. By working together as a team, they can cut off possible escape routes and corner Dracula before he can escape. If the hunters aren't fast enough, Dracula can mature the minions and traps on his trail to cause further devastation to the hunters as they try to survive. This leads to an intense game of cat and mouse, where social deduction is just as important as the sharpness of your stake!

Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition also features a day-night cycle during which players can take different actions. By day the hunters travel through Europe, searching for any possible clues about Dracula’s whereabouts. By night, they carry out investigations - look for clues, find evidence of Dracula’s work and prepare themselves for the hunt. Meanwhile, each night Dracula creates new minions, sets traps and travels to new locations to evade the hunters.

Each iconic hunter provides a new way to play, with unique stats and abilities to aid them in the fight against this ancient evil.  Dracula himself has a range of unholy powers to call upon, allowing him to transform and enthral humans, along with transforming into a bat or mist in order to escape the hunt. These unique skills and the ability of Dracula to hide anywhere across Europe mean that no one game will be the same. And once the hunters and Dracula finally clash, bloody and gruesome combat ensues. When battling, Dracula and the hunters each draw a hand of cards and must choose one to play face down, before revealing them to each other. Cards can counter enemy attacks and foil your opponents plans, so carefully choosing your next move is the key to survive! Nobody is safe as Dracula lashes out at his pursuers, and the Hunter can expect to battle many of his pawns as they get closer to Dracula himself.

Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition will be launched on Steam on the 29th of October for $19.99/£15.49 or your regional equivalent, with a mobile version expected in December.
