Resident Evil: Board Game

Exquisite Crime

A surrealist detective storytelling game from the makers of Alice is Missing, in which you play as paranormal detectives transcribing visions to one another – who must then draw their description. It then uses the exquisite corpse style to mask the outcome until the game is completed, and in doing so offers a tangible and physical outcome. Nicely, it will also be available on Roll20 to play digitally.

MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects

Last year we were treated to the delights of MonsDRAWsity, and now we're treated again but this time with bells on, as it's in collaboration with Shut Up and Sit Down. The game is about sketch artists working at a secret organisation and the witnesses have seen too much...players get 20 seconds to memorise the monster, then attempt to describe it to the artists. The player then decides which of the drawings is the most accurate, and a point is gained.  It's been a popular party game, and now contains input from SU&SD!

Hanamikoji: Geisha's Road

If you enjoyed Hanamikoji – and by the way, we gave it a Must-Play rating in our review of it, which you can read by clicking here – then you'll certainly want to check out it's sequel, in Geisha's Road. It's a 25 minute two-player competitive strategy game – "full of implicit intentions, veiled messages, and hidden actions". You're rivals but friendly patrons of those who you'll help progress and advance. The final level of prestige, and manner of winning, is from the patron most supported.
