Moon Adventure, In a Grove and Dokojong – 3 Games from Oink Games

Oink Games Kickstarter

The masters of clever little games, Oink have returned with a crowdfunding drive for three new games all at once. The iconic Oink are best known for Deep Sea Adventure and A Fake Artist Goes To New York are bringing Moon Adventure, In a Grove and Dokojong to our tabletops. Moon Adventure is a brand new riff on the Deep Sea Adventure game where players cooperatively try and remove supplies from the moon. Dokojong sees players trying to guess one another’s dogs without revealing their own, and In a Grove: Revisited is an expanded remake of the classic ‘which detective dunnit’ game. This set is a great way to start your Oink Games collection.

Hibernation Games: 5 Journaling RPGs for Solo Play

A sweet suite of small solo journaling games by by Lucian Kahn, Jeeyon Shim, Anna Anthropy, Viditya Voleti, and Will Jobst. This looks to be a great collection that focuses on the best side of solo narrative gaming, which is asking yourself bigger questions than you expected.

The Worst Days: A Horror RPG

It’s hard enough being young without having to confront supernatural evil. Combat here is mostly eschewed for social interactions, which as a teenager are potentially life threatening in themselves. Somewhere between It Follows and Stranger Things, this looks to be an interesting horror adventure.

The 2020 Bestiary

While every article in January started with something along the lines of “2020 was a hell year” while offering no cathartic solution to the situation, this zine doesn’t let you down. Instead, the team behind this bestiary is creating ‘dungeon ready’ monsters inspired by events of 2020 for you to bash in with a D20.

Rascals

A sci-fi RPG that uses a deck of playing cards and poker chips instead of relying on our usual dice sets. The game is inspired by films like Rogue One, Mad Max and The Seven Samurai, so we know we’re in for some bombastic high-octane action.

How can this list not include CoraQuest?!! The creation story is great, the game is great and is more in the fitting of what Kickstarter was made for.
