Sci-fi miniatures icon celebrates its 30th anniversary this year

A new edition of Warhammer 40,000 is bound to leave plenty of questions hanging in players’ mouths – but, luckily, you’ll be able to find some of the answers you’re seeking at next month’s UK Games Expo.

Games Workshop will be out in force at the event in Birmingham’s NEC during June 2nd to 4th, with a big booth showing off games such as Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, Warhammer 40,000 and Blood Bowl.

If that wasn’t enough, studio head Pete Foley and Warhammer community representative Andy Smillie will be taking to the stage at noon on the Sunday to field questions from fans wondering about the recently revealed new edition.

Marking 40K’s 30th anniversary, the new edition is said to be a fresh start for the legendary sci-fi miniatures game, including a refined ruleset that encourages faster matches – while continuing to support existing armies.

As for the rulebook, Warhammer 40,000 will adopt a format similar to its rebooted fantasy sibling Age of Sigmar, offering an evolving set of core rules that will be regularly updated and evolved.

The new edition is due out very soon, so you’ll hopefully be able to find out plenty about the game at the show.
