Wood Robot tables will include 'exclusive' decorations and accessories themed after miniature games

Sci-fi miniatures behemoth Warhammer 40,000 and its fantasy sibling Age of Sigmar have inspired an upcoming range of custom gaming tables.

The officially-licensed tabletops are the result of a partnership between Warhammer creator Games Workshop and Wood Robot, the firm behind the Table of Ultimate Gaming series of tailored furniture.

According to an announcement, Wood Robot will be working to “capture the spirit and the grandeur of the celebrated Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar universes and integrate those worlds into the custom Table of Ultimate Gaming games tables they offer”.

This apparently means building power outlets, USB ports and storage areas into the tables as standard, as well as supporting variable play depth that means the central area can be raised or lowered depending on the game.

More specifically, the Warhammer tables will be modelled in line with the games’ visuals, with ‘exclusive’ decorations and accessories inspired by the grimdark and fantasy worlds. We’d hazard a guess at plenty of skulls and metal.

There’s no word yet on how much the special edition Warhammer tables will cost, although Wood Robots’ Table of Ultimate Gaming starts anywhere from $500 (£352) to $900 (£634) depending on size and optional features. Pre-orders are due to open ‘in the near future’, with the tables available worldwide.
