Changes won’t void existing gameplay rules or ships, publisher assures

WizKids’ Star Trek answer to the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game, Attack Wing, is being refreshed with some significant tweaks.

Firstly, the publisher is bundling together ships from the same faction into new fleet packs, which should let newcomers build up their Klingon, Romulan or Federation armada fast and cheaper than buying all of the vessels separately.

In fact, ICv2 reports that Attack Wing prices will be dropped across the board, meaning that now is likely to be a good time to invest in the series – whether you’re an Attack Wing fan or you’re just after some cool pre-painted ships models from the Star Trek universe, especially as WizKids has vowed to step up the quality of its paint jobs on the miniatures.

There are also some gameplay changes being introduced to the title, in the form of a revised digital set of rules released online. WizKids has subsequently confirmed that the changes to the rules will support all existing products, so you shouldn’t suddenly find you can’t use any of your ships.

Wave 29 of Star Trek: Attack wing is due for release next March.
