Table Tyrant Games, the Australian indie tabletop studio responsible for Arena, Tavern Fame and the upcoming Smiths of Winterforge, has been acquired by Aussie publisher Rule & Make.

As part of the deal, TTG will become a division of the publisher behind titles including Burger Up, Rise to Power and Entropy, and operate as its primary development outlet.

According to R&M’s announcement of the buyout, the new arm will focus on working with and supporting other indie developers in the country, with the help of development lead Jason Kotzur.

The first project announced by the Queensland-based partnership is the Kickstarter campaign for TTG’s Smiths of Winterforge, which has been pushed back from September 16th to mid-October as a result of the collaboration.

A print-and-play version of the game was previously released by TTG if you’re looking to fill the extra wait.

“Table Tyrant Games is still Table Tyrant Games,” reassured head of game design and marketing Dylan Shearer in a follow-up post on the TTG blog. “Aaron and I will still be making games both in-house and with other designers.

“The only difference is from now on, we will be acting as a division of Rule & Make. Rule & Make may pass a game on to us for development and we may pass games on to them that don’t fit with our style and together, we have a stronger position for international distribution.”
