Desert tribe-themed strategy card title Targi is coming back in English – and it's bringing its new expansion with it.

Andreas Steiger’s two-player game of tactically placing meeples and claiming cards was originally published in German in 2012, followed by an English first edition the following year from Z-Man Games.

Nearly four years on, it appears the rights to the English version of the game have reverted back to German publisher Kosmos, with English branch Thames & Kosmos announcing its plans to publish an English-language edition of Targi in early 2018 – its earliest available slot, marketing co-ordinator Lili DeSisto told BoardGameGeek.

The base game’s re-release will be followed by a translation of this year’s German-only first expansion Targi: Die Erweiterung (literally translating to Targi: The Expansion), which launched at Essen, later in 2018.
