Following last year's inaugural tournament

Fantasy Flight is bringing its European Championships back to the UK Games Expo this summer.

Held at the Birmingham NEC show between June 1st and 3rd, the organised play events feature tournaments in seven of the publisher’s biggest competitive games: X-Wing Miniatures Game, Imperial Assault, Star Wars: Armada, Star Wars: Destiny, A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, Android: Netrunner and Star Wars: The Card Game, making it one of the last major shows at which the outgoing living card game will be played officially.

The competitions kick off on the Friday with X-Wing and Netrunner rounds, with the bulk of the tournament happening over the weekend as elimination rounds whittle down competitors to the finals on Sunday.

Entry costs either £14 or £18, depending on the game, and is open to players of any skill and nationality. Tickets go on sale at noon on January 28th.

Last year’s Championships were the first time the tournament was held, replicating the format employed over in North America. Winners received paid travel and accommodation for Fantasy Flight’s main World Championships, plus free entry to the main event and a first round bye.
