Epic civilisation-building game Through the Ages gets a release date on mobile

Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization is coming to mobile next month.

Publisher Czech Games Edition confirmed that the digital version of Vlaada Chvátil’s acclaimed sprawling civilisation-building card game would arrive on iOS and Android on September 14th, following a beta earlier this year.

The 2015 title – which currently occupies the number two position in both BoardGameGeek’s overall and strategy game rankings – challenges players to build up their empire, drafting cards as they develop technology, construct wonders and elect leaders, balancing resource production with military might as they aim to have the most culture at the end of the three- to four-hour game.

Chvátil had previously said that Through the Ages and his Spiel des Jahres-winning party hit Codenames would arrive on mobile at the “very beginning” of 2017.

Czech Games Edition followed up its announcement of Through the Ages’ release date by adding that it would finish development of the Codenames app once its adaptation of Chvátil’s strategy epic had been launched.
