Ten models to launch in August

After vowing to improve its own paint jobs for that other TV and film-inspired sci-fi miniatures dogfighting title, Star Trek: Attack Wing, WizKids is now giving players the chance to paint their own ships.

Star Trek Deep Cuts is a new line of unpainted ship models coming out this August, ICv2 reports.

While not specifically designed for use in Attack Wing, each plastic figure comes with a base and decal sheet that will allow it to be converted for use in the tabletop game.

The miniatures do come ready-primed for painting and cost $6 (£5) each.

The first ten models in the series will include the Klingon and Romulan Bird-of-Prey ships, as well as the Federation’s Defiant, Intrepid, Sovereign, Constitution and Galaxy-class vessels – the latter obviously best-known as Star Trek: The Next Generation’s USS Enterprise-D, piloted by Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

WizKids previously released a similar range of unpainted fantasy-inspired miniatures last year.
