Party game studio buys land plot along US-Mexico border and vows to 'make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built'

The team behind controversial party game Cards Against Humanity have revealed their latest stunt – and this time, they’re taking on the US president.

Cards Against Humanity has a history of pulling audacious exploits aimed at raising awareness of certain causes, from digging an enormous hole as a sort of meta-statement on how people choose to spend their money and releasing expansions based on periods and weed to fundraise for women in politics and the regulation of marijuana in the US to selling literally nothing and even flogging manure in a box, the proceeds from which were later donated to charity.

The latest is perhaps the studio’s most political move yet, as it revealed that it had bought several acres of land along the US-Mexico border – directly in the way of Donald Trump’s planned $20 billion wall.

“We’ve purchased a plot of vacant land on the border and retained a law firm specialising in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built,” the team gleefully explains on its page for ‘Cards Against Humanity Saves America’.

‘Cards Against Humanity stops the wall’ is just the first in a planned series of six surprises being sold via the website and planned to be shipped out to purchasers in December.

The $15 pack of mystery gifts sold out within a matter of hours and was only available in the US – “This is Cards Against Humanity Saves America, not Cards Against Humanity Saves The Dumb Country You Live In,” the website states.

It’s not the first time the team has offered a selection of surprises as part of its various expansions and follow-ups to the hit party game, from pairs of socks to donating to organisations on the behalf of supporters and buying an island later renamed ‘Hawaii 2’ that was divided up onto 250,000 one-square-foot plots and given to those that bought into the campaign.
