Co-operative title will be compatible with past entries in the series

Arkham Horror co-designer and Descent: Journeys in the Dark creator Kevin Wilson is to produce a new entry in the Dungeons & Dragons series of Adventure System board games.

Published by WizKids – the company’s second contribution to the series after it took over from Wizards of the Coast in 2015 – the co-operative title will offer RPG-lite gameplay without the need for a DM as with previous instalments Castle Ravenloft, Wrath of Ashardalon, The Legend of Drizzt and Temple of Elemental Evil (pictured).

The rules and components included in the game will be fully compatible with all of the past releases, allowing players to bring their characters across each of the games.

The untitled next project also looks to be the first Adventure System designed without the input of long-term series designer Peter Lee.

The game will be released this August.
