GMT Games also announces digital version of wargame Commands & Colours

The digital version of beloved Cold War strategy game Twilight Struggle will land on Android devices before the year is out, publisher GMT Games has revealed.

The 2005 classic and former BoardGameGeek ‘best game of all time’ was released for PC, Mac and iOS earlier this year after a Kickstarter raised almost $400,000 for a digital port. We’ve been playing the PC and iOS versions recently, and they are fantastic adaptations of an already fantastic game.

GMT said in a newsletter update that Playdek is currently testing the Android version of the game, with a release date planned before this Christmas – although nothing is confirmed for sure just yet.

The firm also revealed that it is working on a digital version of two of Richard Borg’s wargames in the Commands & Colors family: Commands & Colors Ancients and Commands & Colors Napoleonics.

According to the publisher, a developer for the ports has been selected and contracts have been signed, with a tentative release window of next summer.
