The next game from Dead of Winter, Mice & Mystics and Specter Ops studio sure looks like Gundam

Plaid Hat has sneakily teased the next game from Dead of Winter and Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn creator Isaac Vega, a mechs-in-space title bearing the name Starship Samurai.

The Mice & Mystics and Specter Ops studio tweeted a first look at the upcoming game, showing some miniatures of smaller starfighters and the bigger humanoid robots that seem to take more than a dab of inspiration from the fighting mobile suits featured in influential Japanese anime Gundam.

There are currently no other details on the project, such as how the gameplay will work or when the box will be out, but an extra hint might come from a past survey from Plaid Hat sent to fans gathering thoughts on a new game set in the Crossroads series.

At the time, the survey offered space and feudal Japan as two of the suggested settings for a future entry in the storytelling franchise started by Dead of Winter – Starship Samurai looks like it may have ultimately combined those ideas together.
