WizKids and Lookout Games team up for upgrade kits designed by Uwe Rosenberg

Lookout Games is going all-out for the 10th anniversary of Agricola next year.

Earlier this year, creator Uwe Rosenberg revealed that his acclaimed worker placement game would receive a special re-release to celebrate a decade since its launch, complete with wooden components and revamped cards both in terms of selection and appearance.

Now, publisher Lookout has teamed up with fellow games firm WizKids to launch six (six!) new expansions to the game next year.

Each of the Agricola Upgrade Kits will include new cards designed by Rosenberg himself, plus five pre-painted miniatures to use in the game. Each set will include figures for one player, as well as cards exclusive to that pack.

“We’ve been wanting to do painted figures for the family members for a while now and thought it would be great to couple them with new content for the game,” explained Lookout editor Grzegorz Kobiela.

At the moment, the release period is simply ‘2017’ – which might mean we have to wait until next year’s Spiel in October (Agricola was launched at Spiel 2007) to get our hands on the fancy kits. Either way, we'll be first in line.
