Redesign of stacking title adds combat mechanic between titular hero and Giraffe Boy, Big E. and Batguin

Climbing-obsessed zoological crusader Rhino Hero is back in business with a follow-up to the charming 3D game of stacking cards.

Rhino Hero: Super Battle adds three new anthropomorphic superheroes to the mix, including the hilariously-titled Giraffe Boy, Big E. and Batguin.

As in the original game (which is sometimes called Super Rhino here in the UK), the four fighters will climb a tower constructed by players out of wall and roof cards, with the aim being to keep the tower as stable as possible while placing the animal tokens.

Rhino Hero, Giraffe Boy, Big E. and Batguin will squabble among themselves, trying to knock their rivals off the tower and – according to publisher HABA’s description (via BoardGameGeek) – avoid spider monkeys while scaling the skyscraper. Which frankly sounds terrifying.

Rhino Hero: Super Battle is out in Germany during the first half of the year, followed by a US release in the latter half – suggesting that a UK launch will be towards the end of 2017.
