Zoinks! There's more!

CMON and Warner Bros. have partnered to bring us a brand new Scooby-Doo: the Board Game.

If the news sounds slightly familiar, it’s likely because there’s been another recent Scooby-Doo game, as Scooby-Doo: Betrayal at Mystery Mansion released only days ago. However, with the film Scoob! scheduled for later this year, it’s no surprise the popular Hanna-Barbera production is seeing our shelves once more.

The game Scooby-Doo: The Board Game comes with the gaming pedigree of designers Fred Perret and Guilherme Goulart (from Arcadia Quest), and original art created Hannah Cardoso (from Foodies and Munchkin Dungeon). Within the game, you’ll get to play as the meddling kids themselves, Scooby-Doo, Fred, Velma, Daphne or Shaggy, riding the Mystery Machine around and trying to catch villains – but of course, this is never as easy as it sounds!

The game is family-friendly, and can be played on different levels of difficulty as suits the players. Though it’s for up to five players, it also includes specific rules regarding two players, and solo games too and it states that the rules are easy to learn. Each person has special abilities, but so do the villains you’re up against! The gang can only succeed if coordinating, making it a fun game to play with a range of people.

Designer Guilherme Goulart said of working on the franchise: “Everyone knows of Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. Gang. The show has been on TV uninterrupted since 1969! They’re cultural icons across multiple countries and it’s been great to bring them to tabletops.”

They may not be able to replicate the famous repeating scenery of the cartoons, but the game sounds like it’s tried to capture the fun of the original cartoons. There’s no word on when this will be available to buy just yet, but it has said “soon”, so keep your eyes peeled!
