All in one, rather than little and often.

Fantasy Flight Games have, for the last few days, been teasing something coming – and the news is finally here. Two brand new expansions for Arkham Horror: The Card Game, with The Edge of the Earth.

Differing from the usual setting of Arkham itself, The Edge of the Earth heads into the far uncharted reaches of Antarctica, looking at the unspeakable horrors dwelling on the edge of the shadows (The Thing, anyone?). Adventurers will delve into the mysteries and uncover the truth before it's too late... or maybe just perish in the icy unknown.

This comes as two expansions- an Investigator Expansion, and a Campaign expansion, which represents a new way Fantasy Flight Games intend to release expansions in future. Previously, additional packs were available in smaller but frequent intervals as Mythos packs, but they have said that you'll receive the same amount of cards as you would in a standard cycle, but now available in a single package.

The Investigator Expansion will offer five investigators, and 250 cards to expand your deckbuilding options, and to strengthen your player card content. Notable additions are Lily Chen, a martial artist, and Norman Withers, the Astronomer (who first appeared as a promo investigator).

The Campaign Expansion contains no player cards, but 300 scenario cards to support the campaign of the Edge of the Earth. You just need this and the core box to jump into the tale. You'll begin at the site of your crashed plane, and are stranded in the antarctic with no idea what swatted your plan from the sky, and needing to survive.

Pre-orders are available now, so head to your local FLGS for more details.
