Modiphius Releases Conan the Adventurer

Conan has been a foundation or inspiration for a number of games over the years, not least the popular Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of core book by Robert E. Howard. If you were a fan of this, you'll need this as a foundation for the newly available Conan The Adventurer.

In this, you are within the Southern Kingdoms, where powerful factions are plotting against each other. The taverns and streets are filled with brawls, murders, and executions, and so make a great home for a mercenary.

The game is described as “the definitive guide to the lands south of the Styx River, including serpent-haunted Stygia, Kush, Darfar, Keshan, Punt, Zembabwei, and that vast region known to the folk of the Dreaming West as “the Black Kingdoms”. Rife with mystery and ancient, long forgotten cultures and ruins, this region is brimming with potential for adventure and intrigue.”.

The PDF itself is 121 pages, and purchase of this will entitle you to a discount code to offset the price of a printed version should this become available. Some discretion is advised due to the nature of the source material, though not specified. Within it, you’ll find new archetypes including the Adventurer, Griot, Tomb Guardian and witchfinder, with a number of additional talents and background elements across a number of important characters. You’ll also have rich maps and concept art produced for it, with guides and histories of the counties you’ll be exploring. Of course, you’ll also have Conan, who is described during his war-chief period.

Modiphius Entertainment have said that it was developed with leading Conan scholars, making this is the place for Hyborian Age adventure, just as Howard had created it.
