Mega-publisher to handle global distribution and localisation of revived minis game

It seems that everyone wants a piece of the upcoming second edition of resurrected miniatures game Mutant Chronicles: Siege of the Citadel.

Having already teamed up with licensing firm Cabinet Entertainment to bring Richard Borg’s 1990s classic to Kickstarter and Ninja Division to add chibi figures to the title, Modiphius has now signed a co-publishing deal with tabletop giant Fantasy Flight Games.

As part of the new collaboration, Fantasy Flight will handle the global publishing, retail distribution, localisation and translation (those last two are roughly the same thing in our book) for the game.

All backers at the Doomtrooper and Dark Legion levels will also now receive Bloodberet version of the McBride mini, Modiphius said, to celebrate the news.

Siege of the Citadel has now raised more than five times its $60,000 target, exceeding the $300,000 mark with more two days left to run.

According to Modiphius, the retail version of Siege will come to retailers worldwide after the game is released to Kickstarter backers at the end of 2017.

“FFG’s global reach is unsurpassed in the hobby game industry and their expertise allows us the opportunity to focus on the game’s design and development,” Cabinet president and CEO Fredrik Malmberg and Modiphius publishing director Chris Birch added in an awkward joint canned statement. “We’re thrilled to be working with them to bring Mutant Chronicles: Siege of the Citadel to friendly local game shops everywhere.”
