Epic Origins takes Call to Adventure back to its roots, inspired by the kind of dungeon-crawling high fantasy that made many gamers fall in love with RPGs and board games in the first place.

Like the other titles in the Call to Adventure series, Epic Origins is a tabletop game in which players compete to craft the hero with the greatest destiny. You play cards to build your character, cast runes to face challenges, and choose whether to follow a path of virtue or corruption. But Epic Origins focuses on co-op play, pitting the players’ party of adventurers against an evolving Adversary.

In another celebration of old school RPGs, Epic Origins introduces all new Heritage cards, allowing players to begin the game as one of eight fantasy races like Elf, Dwarf, and Halfling. Heritage cards provide an additional, unique starting ability to each player. Additionally, for the first time, players will choose a Class for their hero! Each player will start as a novice Fighter, Cleric, Warlock, or other classic RPG class, and level them up with Experience, gaining new powers over the course of the game as they strive to achieve their ultimate destiny and defeat the Adversary. On top of these new mechanics are a suite of all new destinies, challenges, and feat cards to provide an immersive hero building experience. Whether you win or lose, every player will have an intriguing story to tell at game’s end.

Epic Origins contains everything that 1-4 players need for unlimited hero crafting fun, but is also 100% compatible with the original Call to Adventure and expansions. The game will include a multi-session Campaign mode with unlockable content and evolving Adversary cards. It even includes a 5E character conversion guide, allowing players to take the heroes they create directly into their next RPG session!

The Kickstarter is live now. The 2018 campaign for the original Call to Adventure raised over $750,000. Since then, the game has been a best seller, won multiple awards, and spawned branded expansions set in the worlds of Patrick Rothfuss’s Kingkiller series and Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive. Backers of this Kickstarter will have access to hard-to-find special content, including a set of unique magical tome-style boxes. A retailer tier is available.

Brotherwise Games was started by brothers Chris and Johnny O’Neal in 2012 and has grown in to one of the best-known indie publishers in tabletop. They strive to make games that bring everyone to the table. Visit the Kickstater here.
