Eclipse is only available for iPad on iOS – not iPhone
Mobile version down from £4.99 on iOS, but Android version not discounted
A quick PSA for all you 4X fans out there: one of our favourite-ever games, Eclipse, is free for iPad right now.
The mobile version of the epic sci-fi strategy game normally rings in at £4.99, but has been discounted for an unspecified reason. We’re not sure how long the sale will last, so best to grab it now before it goes back up – after all, it’s not going to cost you anything.
The digital edition of the game, which features both AI for solo play and online multiplayer, is also available on PC and Android, though neither of those versions have been dropped in price at the time of writing.

You’ll need to have an iPad to play the iOS version – no iPhones allowed, we’re afraid.
