Dungeons & Dragons’ next storyline is out this September, and there’s a lot to look forward to.

Tomb of Annihilation takes place in the southern Forgotten Realms region of Chult, a mountainous jungle land full of the undead and dinosaurs – as well as undead dinosaurs, if your nightmares weren’t bad/awesome enough.

Described as ‘Indiana Jones meets zombies’ by lead designer Mike Mearls, Tomb of Annihilation sees players trying to halt a curse affecting the undead, working with guides to take them into the jungle environment and visit settlements in search of the Soulmonger artefact causing the deadly magic.

The adventure has been created with the help of Pendleton Ward, best known as the creator of cult TV cartoon Adventure Time, who served as a story consultant.

As well as its debut in Dungeons & Dragons on September 19th, a Tomb of Annihilation expansion will come to D&D PC, PS4 and Xbox One MMO Neverwinter on July 25th and virtual tabletop apps Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds sometime in September.

There’s also a standalone D&D Adventure System board game based on the upcoming storyline planned for release in September, which will be compatible with the previous entries in the series.
