When you go digging into the past, expect to find more barbarians

We’re familiar with Conan from both the RPG and popular culture, but how well do we know what came before?

In an alternative setting to Conan roleplaying, this places you in the pre-cataclysmic age, thousands of years before Conan’s time, and is a time of mystery, magic, and decline, shaken by the savage new king. Such a king rose from barbarian to King of Valusia, and his name was Kull.

Modiphius have shown us Kull before, but now you have the opportunity to purchase Conan: Kull of Atlantis – PDF. The digital book will contain rules for magic, time travel, the gods of the time, non-player characters, new archetypes, new player options, and a whole lot more.

You will need Robert E. Howard’s Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of rulebook play, but it’ll act as a reference for fans of the hero.

In real life, Kull of Atlantis was written by Robert E. Howard before Conan the Barbarian. The first Conan story was reportedly a re-write of an original Kull story, where Kull’s approach is much more melancholic and introspective, whereas Conan extols purpose. Kull garnered his own popularity much later, through books published posthumously, comics published,, and RPG’s too.

For Conan: Kull of Atlantis, your purchase will provide a 120 page colour PDF, and can be purchased directly from the Modiphius store for £12.99. If you like the way Conan plays, but want something a little different, this offers a reasonable alternative.
