Don’t worry, it’ll go over the kid’s heads

Big Potato, the premier creator of party games you can guarantee a good time from, have announced their new line of games for 2022. These games include the red-herring hunting Sounds Fishy – a party game of really weird questions with weird answers, where the answer might be even stranger, Shoot For The Stars – a numbers game where you need to get the right number without going over, which, like real space rocket, will blow up if you get your numbers wrong.

But neither of those games are why you clicked into the story. That goes to the new action game from the publisher: Chicken Vs Hotdog.

Chicken Vs Hotdog is a kind of dexterity action game of flipping and spinning a blue plastic chicken with a sucker on one end, or a red hotdog of a similar configuration. Each turn consists of turning over a card which will display a ‘trick’ that you’ll need to complete, and then you bet whether or not you’ll be able to complete it. The chicken and hotdogs are referred to as ‘Sling’Ems®’ – which will be flying above the heads of younger players in more ways that one.

It has been revealed to Tabletop Gaming that the original prototypes for the game were created by putting a dog chew toy over a dildo, and in fact this is what was sent to the manufacturers to create the props for the game.

A source at Big Potato close to the prototype dildos-with-dog-toys-on-the-end told us that, really, you just get used to the prototypes being flung around the room. Also that in a family environment, no one is thinking about that. At the time of the call we were not able to ascertain whether the game with ‘for external use only’ warnings.

The silly origin story aside, Chicken Vs Hotdog looks to be the number one candidate for games of the year in student flats, with pub mates and teenagers looking for a dexterity challenge with a bit of a twist. In the same vein as Throw Throw Burrito and Happy Salmon it could well end up being a classic
